Eligibility Criteria for Online BCA Admission

BAOU provides direct entry into the first semester as well as lateral entry into higher semesters for students holding prior recognized technical diplomas.

  • First Year / First Semester Entry: 12th Standard or its equivalent; OR 10th Standard + ITI (2 or more years) + NCVT/GCVT + GSHEB/GOSE 12th English Exam; OR 10th Standard + 3-year Polytechnic Diploma.
  • Second Year / Third Semester Direct Entry: Completion of 10 + 3-year Diploma in Computer Engineering (CE), Information Technology (IT), or Computer Science (CS); OR 10+2 with a 1-year Diploma in Computer Applications (DCA) from a statutory examination body or recognized university.
  • Third Year / Fifth Semester Direct Entry: Completion of an Advanced Diploma in Computer Application from a recognized university.

Programme Duration and Registration Rules

The online BCA is a three-year undergraduate program. Students are allowed a maximum duration of up to 8 years to complete all credits.

Students must compulsorily select courses totaling 36 credits per year from the prescribed course groups. Re-registration for subsequent years is facilitated by a letter of offer sent by the university upon completing the duration of the preceding year.

Under the associate studentship scheme, learners can register for a minimum of 8 credits and a maximum of 32 credits to access study center facilities, academic counseling, library services, and assignment evaluations.

Fee Structure and Examination System

Student evaluation comprises two components: Continuous Evaluation carrying 30% weightage through mandatory assignments, and Term End Evaluation carrying 70% weightage through term-end examinations.

Admissions take place in the August and February cycles. Students are eligible to appear in the term-end exam after completing one full year of study (in the following July or January).
